Ted Durst passed away in 2014, however he recently awarded a grant to the Croswell Opera House. A few years ago he saw a need and wanted to help the Croswell Opera House, a local treasure. So he requested a grant from the Roto Durst Charitable Fund at the Lenawee Community Foundation. And then, he did something really special. He left a gift from which the earnings would make grants, and he asked the Community Foundation to award this grant every year forever. So, even though he’s no longer physically with us, his presence is still felt in our community. Jere Righter, Executive Director, at the Croswell Opera House, was happy to accept Ted Durst’s annual gift from Paula Trentman, Program Manager, Lenawee Community Foundation.
