Adrian, MI – Mark your calendars for our annual fundraising event that promises to make a difference in Lenawee County. Lenawee Cares is thrilled to announce the return of our highly anticipated “Bagging for a Difference” event, taking place from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, November 17th at Country Market in Adrian.
Lenawee Cares, established in 2016, has been instrumental in uplifting our community. The annual campaign consistently raises nearly $500,000 each year, supporting vital initiatives throughout Lenawee County. Notably, the Lenawee Cares endowment recently played a pivotal role by contributing a $50,000 match to the COVID-19 Response Fund, established by the Lenawee Community Foundation to assist during the pandemic. In 2022, the endowment also supported Lenawee Cares grants to local non-profit organizations.
The primary focus of Lenawee Cares is to fund health and human services with an emphasis on meeting basic needs for our fellow citizens. To drive this mission forward, the Lenawee Cares Advisory Board spearheads the annual campaign, assesses community needs, and provides valuable grant recommendations. The dedicated staff at the Lenawee Community Foundation skillfully coordinates the process to ensure that every dollar raised has the greatest impact.
At the Bagging for a Difference event, we have an exciting lineup in store for you. Local leaders and celebrities will be on-site at Country Market, generously giving their time to help bag your groceries for tips. It’s an opportunity for our community to come together, support a worthy cause, and have a bit of fun along the way. All the proceeds from this event will directly support Lenawee Cares and its ongoing efforts to make a positive impact in Lenawee County.
One of the distinguishing features of Lenawee Cares is that 100% of the gifts received are invested back into Lenawee County, ensuring that the funds benefit our local community. This commitment to keeping donations local has made Lenawee Cares a true beacon of hope for those in need.
