Opening Doors to Education

At the Lenawee Community Foundation, we believe that education creates opportunity for individuals, for families, and for our entire community. Through the generosity of local donors and partners, we’re honored to help Lenawee County students reach their educational goals.

Scholarships can support learners of all ages, from preschool to postsecondary education.

Some are designed for graduates of a specific high school, others for students pursuing particular fields of study or meeting certain criteria. Each award represents the shared belief that when one person succeeds, our whole community grows stronger.

How It Works:

The Lenawee Community Foundation manages a variety of scholarship funds established by caring individuals, families, and organizations. Each fund reflects the donor’s values and vision for helping others.

Most scholarships are administered in collaboration with local schools or the Lenawee County Education Foundation (LCEF).

Students are encouraged to check with their school counselor for scholarships specific to their district or to explore opportunities open to any Lenawee County graduate through LCEF.

Scholarships Administered by the Lenawee Community Foundation

The Lenawee Community Foundation directly stewards several scholarships that benefit local students across the county. Examples include:

Stubnitz Engineering Scholarship Fund supporting students pursuing engineering

Stubnitz Arts Scholarship Fund advancing creativity and cultural education

Frederick Kindinger Scholarship Fund encouraging academic excellence and leadership

Citizens Gas Scholarship Fund for local students demonstrating service and promise

Joan Downing Wood Scholarship Fund assisting students with financial need who strive to make a difference

Many additional scholarships honor individuals or families who believed in the power of education.
The Bridleman, Meier, LaPointe, and Ries funds are a few examples of continuing a legacy of learning and community support.
