Join the Lenawee YOUTH Council and help bring health, happiness, and hope to your community.
Lead. Serve. Inspire
The Lenawee YOUTH Council (LYC) empowers middle and high school students to be a voice for change in Lenawee County.
If you’re passionate about helping others and want to make our community a better place for young people, LYC gives you the opportunity to do exactly that.
As part of the Lenawee Community Foundation, LYC members learn about local needs, volunteer at community events, and help direct grant dollars to youth programs that make a real difference.
You’ll gain leadership experience, meet new people, and see firsthand how your ideas can create lasting change—right here at home.
A Legacy of Youth Leadership
The Lenawee YOUTH Council began in 1997 as part of a statewide effort launched by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to give young people a stronger role in philanthropy.
Today, more than 1,500 youth serve on 86 Youth Advisory Councils across Michigan, helping manage over $55 million in endowed funds supporting youth initiatives.
In Lenawee County, LYC continues this mission proudly. Over the past two decades, local youth leaders have awarded more than $1.1 million in grants and projects that bring health, happiness, and hope to their peers and the broader community.
