Hunters Helping Lenawee Program
Together, we provide food to our neighbors in Lenawee County.
While our local food pantries are usually successful in stocking canned goods and nonperishable foods, protein is a critical, continuous need for pantries and patrons alike.
Hunger is a real issue in Lenawee County, and you can help by donating dollars or deer.
Through our Hunters Helping Lenawee program, donating a gift of venison—a charitable gift in kind—brings lean, quality protein to local families in need, and financial gifts cover processing fees to ensure more healthy meals can be shared across our community.

How it Works:
- DONATE DEER
Deliver the Deer
Legally harvested, properly tagged, and fully field-dressed deer can be taken to a participating processor. Let them know the deer is to be donated to the Hunters Helping Lenawee program through the Lenawee Community Foundation.
- DONATE DOLLARS
Pay for Processing
The Lenawee Community Foundation has established a special fund for the purpose of covering processing fees for the Hunters Helping Lenawee program. All donations to this fund help bring more protein to those who need it most.
- KNOW YOU HELPED YOUR NEIGHBORS
Take pride in knowing you helped your neighbors. After processing, local food pantries and community meal programs pick up and distribute the venison directly to individuals and families in need across Lenawee County.
When you give today, together we help fight hunger!
