Planned Giving

Leave a Lasting Legacy in Lenawee County

When YOU plan ahead, together WE can make a difference.

Planned giving, also known as a legacy gift, is a way to make a special gift to a charity, cause, or organization you care about, but instead of giving right away, you plan to give later—usually as part of your will or estate. Whether money, stocks, life insurance policies, or other assets, planned gifts make it possible for your generosity to continue to make a difference for future generations, without impacting your finances today.

Planning a gift—no matter the size—to the Lenawee Community Foundation allows your gift to be invested wisely over time, generating interest that can be used to fund charitable activity in our community, forever. As trusted stewards of your gift, we will continuously honor your wishes, protect your gift’s value, and ensure your dollars make a lasting impact right here at home.

Planned giving is more than the gift itself— it’s about the love and care behind it.

Sample Will Language:

The following sample statements can be used to draft your estate plan or will. “I give, devise, and bequeath ________________ to the Lenawee Community Foundation, a Michigan nonprofit corporation, located at 1440 W. Maumee St., Adrian, Michigan 49221, EIN 38-6095474, to be used for the organization’s general use and purpose as they work to achieve their mission of supporting the needs of Lenawee County, now and forever.”

Fill in the blank with one of the following:
1. The sum of $ from my estate
2. % of the rest and remainder of my estate
3. The rest, residue, and remainder of my estate.

If you are considering a bequest but would like to ensure that your gift will be used for a specific purpose, please let us know.

We would be happy to work with you and your advisor to identify ways to meet your charitable objectives and craft language to accomplish your goals.
