Giving through Grain

Growing the future of Lenawee County Together.

The Lenawee Community Foundation brings people together to support community needs. From individual gifts to those that are pooled to make a larger impact, all contributions serve as a resource for our community.

Together, we can make sure our community stays strong and supported for years to come.
Farmers can make a charitable gift of grain instead of cash, which may provide added tax benefits by reducing inventory to report. The Foundation can help with the transfer of ownership before the grain is sold to maximize these benefits.
By donating grain, you honor our community’s agricultural heritage while also supporting important charitable causes that keep Lenawee strong today and into the future.

How It Works:

  • Share
Share the name of the grain facility you wish to use and we will notify the facility and answer any questions about the
    transaction.
  • Select Fund
Select the fund at the Lenawee Community Foundation that you want your contribution to benefit. Ask about our agriculturally focused funds to direct your gift towards agriculture.
  • Complete Form (download)
Complete the attached form to transfer ownership of the gifted grain to us. Make two copies, sending the original to the Lenawee Community Foundation and giving the copy to the facility when you deliver the grain for the gift.
  • Donation Made
We will send a donation receipt to you for your gift.
  • Donations Invested
Your donation will be pooled with other contributions and invested wisely to earn interest over time, which will be used to fund charitable giving in Lenawee County, NOW AND FOREVER.
Lenawee Community Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our Federal Tax ID is #38-6095474.
