Frank Stanley lived a humble, grounded life but his quiet generosity continues to speak volumes. Born and raised in Adrian, Frank graduated from Tecumseh High School and served his country with pride in the United States Army. After his military service, he spent his career as a federal corrections officer, retiring in 2006. Frank passed away in 2023, leaving behind a circle of lifelong friends and a legacy gift to the Lenawee Community Foundation that will continue to uplift the place he always called home.
Frank faced many challenges in life. After surviving a brain aneurysm in his late 20s, he was diagnosed with lupus and lived with ongoing health issues. Despite it all, he remained steady, kind, and generous. He lived simply and without fanfare but gave freely when others were in need.
Frank’s legacy gift to LCF reflects his deep connection to Lenawee County and his belief in caring for others. Through this gift, he joins others in our Lenawee Legacy Society, ensuring that the causes he cared about will continue to be supported—bringing health, happiness, and hope to his neighbors, now and forever.
Those who knew Frank remember his deep loyalty to friends and his calm nature. He was proud of his military service and active in local organizations including the American Legion, the VFW, and the Moose Lodge. A tribute shared simply says it all: “We’ll miss our friend. The boys will truly miss their ‘Frank the Tank.’”
At the Lenawee Community Foundation, we are honored to carry Frank’s legacy forward. His generosity reminds us that behind every quiet gift is a powerful ripple of love for Lenawee.
